My daughter Valerie is expecting Miss Jessica Around the 1st of December. I guess this has given her kids something to think about as they see her growing belly and are beginning to see the baby move. Kate (4) asked me the other day "Nana, did you ever have a baby?" I replied, "Why yes I did". She looked puzzled and asked "What did you do with it?". Needless to say...she didn'y buy the part about the fact that her "mom" was my little baby.
I took care of Kate and Jace today as Valerie had a doctor's appointment. I can tell that Kate is really thinking a lot about what it means to grow up. Kate (4) told her friend Jace (3) "When you grow up...just your feet get big but your head stays the same size". She thought a minute then added "I guess that your head could look different but your voice stays the same". How Precious! What can I say? I love being a Nana...you learn so much that you never thought about before.
